Q without U

A Q with no U next to it looks like a dead tile. It is not quite. The dictionary holds 56 playable words that use Q without any U, and the short ones come up more often than you would expect.

They are mostly words borrowed from Arabic, Hebrew and Chinese, where the Q stands for a sound English does not have. The ones worth knowing are the short ones, because they need the fewest lucky neighbors.
